The YMCA staff, especially the director Jamie, go out of their way to make my children feel welcome and good about themselves.

Camryn Y - Camp

Camp is really special to me because it gives me a chance to relax and not worry about my appearance and think about how I can be a better friend. Camp has given me mories that will last to the end and will always make me smile. I have made many friends at camp and so many of them still come to camp with me so we can make moments of true friendship. Camp Oakes has so many activities I could never get bored of them. Camp means everything to me and it would mean the world to me me if others could enjoy this experience. Someday I hope to share my happiness with others and let them enjoy this amazing camp and keep it close to their hearts.

Caprice Kavanaugh - Resident Camp

I became part of the Y when I was 10 yrs old, going to day camp and resident camp. I've been going to Camp Oakes each summer since then and would never miss it. When I got old enough, I started working with the Y in afternoon childcare. I love being around the kids and being able to help guide them to make the right choices.

I've continued to be part of the Y so I can make a different with the youths I come in contact with and the communities that surround them.

The staff at Moffett YMCA interact with the students in a very positive manner. Jamie is an excellent director and role model for the students.

I like the YMCA because after I finish homework I get to play. I also like the YMCA because at play time outside we sometimes play baseball.

The selection of staff at Peterson is wonderful. I appreciate that there is a mix of women and men staff so that my son has someone to relate to.

What the Y means to me is safety, helping, giving, and caring. The Y to me is like a family. They provide food, help with homework if you need it and they have stuff that you can play with. When I come to the Y it's like I'm, at home but I'm really not at home. They will help you when someone bothers you. At the Y you can make friends easily. They have Y Arts and Craft projects and books. If you get hurt they will help you. Sometimes they will put on movies. They also give you extra stuff like Root Beer floats and etc. And if your parents can watch and if you don't like your baby sister you can come here but if you like them you don't have to come. The Y means a lot to me because if there wasn't the Y and a bully is coming at you you can run inside that what the Y means to me.
