Faith Ford - ESTOCK FAMILY YMCA

Hi, I'm Faith. I have been a part of the YMCA for about 8 or 9 years. I have had so many great memories with the YMCA but I really only have two or three that comes to mind right now. I actually met my best friend at the YMCA when I was in kindergarten; we are still best friends to this day. Another great memory I had was when I went on my first field trip. I was really scared to go on any rides and the staff helped me and made me feel better. I love the YMCA and the qualities it has. Thanks guys!

We are beyond happy with the Peterson YMCA! The entire staff is fun and friendly while maintaining AMAZING control of the students. The YMCA room is very clean and well maintained. The staff goes to great lengths to engage the students in constructive, fun and age appropriate activities. We feel truly blessed to get to be a part of this program! (And their Valentine's Day dance was pretty fantastic!)

I came to the Y as a child and really enjoyed it and had great relationships with some of the teachers. I really looked up to them, so now as an adult while going to school to become a teacher, I thought what a great way to give back and also become a mentor to children. I love working with children and enjoy working for the Y.

It is a safe place to have my child go to after school. The director is very experienced. I am very lucky to have her stay the entire time my child has been at the YMCA. I think it was great to hae the older children help organize the sports for the younger kids. They still come up to my son and give him pictures and call him coach. It was a great way to develop leadership in the older kids.

Jamie truly cares about each and every child and is always aware of everything that happens at the Y... She always comes to me to let me know how Kylie is doing it if there are Any issues I need ti know about.. I love the communication with the staff.. I appreciate them and am grateful for them. My daughter thrives because of the YMCA.

Jocelyn Ho - PETERSON FAMILY YMCA

The Philosopher John Locke once wrote, "Education begins the gentleman (child), but reading, good company and reflection must finish him." In honor of this famous quote, we want to share that Eader & Peterson YMCA programs have been instrumental in the growth of our daughter, Jocelyn. Each program has helped take her to another level of social development that we feel would not have happened if she had not been involved in these outstanding and well run programs. The leadership and staff at each location are warm, caring and truly help the children become better people. The YMCA teaches and supplements many of the missing elements that are lacking in today's educational curriculum, such as art, physical fitness, cooking, and a deeper understanding of science and discovery. All of these areas are vital in helping the children reach their potential. In addition, the YMCA is an affordable child care solution for the dual-income family. It is money well spent and the staff certainly gives a family their money's worth in love and attention to the kids. We wish to extend a personal thank you to Tomia Hicks and her team for making Jocelyn feel welcomed and appreciated at Peterson after her transfer from Eader.

I love the Y because I love playing football with my friends and I love how fun the Y is. I love the half nighters and clubs. I like how much they care about us and how they take care of us afterschool.

Twilight Sparkle - Camp Oakes

Dear Princess Celestia, I have learned many valuable lessons in friendship here at Camp Oakes, but the most important one would be to always help your fellow ponies.

Every pony at camp acts like one big family, whether they are helping another, singing songs, playing games, or even having a snowball fight! This act of learning has also taught me to walking another pony's hooves. These lessons and the helpful ponies are enough to keep me coming back!

Years ago I had a little boy in the program named Garrett Ewald, now called Garrett Ryan. He was a bright and funny child. He was caring and very respectful; he also really loved the YMCA. He ended up moving to the Peterson program where he grew to enjoy the YMCA even more through the years. He occasionally acted in small roles, commercials, and photo shoots, and he would always tell Tomia and me about these great opportunities. He is now going into the 7th grade, and came to visit Peterson and Moffett YMCA today to announce that he has a leading role playing Judy's best friend in the new Judy Moody move coming out tomorrow. He wanted to thank the Y and tell us how much he enjoyed his time here...refusing to say who was his favorite, Moffett or Peterson, ëcause you know I asked. :) Although he wanted to come and say thanks for all the support, he was kind enough to bring a movie booklet and sign autographs for all the kids at both sites.

Catrina Falencki - Camp Oakes

Camp Oakes is more than just a regular summer camp. It has taught me things that I would never think of learning. When I came to camp for my first year I was so scared to do things like ride a hourse. Things like that let me overcome things in life. Before camo starts I feel so excited. I just love camp so much! The leaders are just so amazing. Every year I get so excited and I just love it so much. This is going ot be my fourth year going. My cabin mates means the world to me and they are so nice.
