Catrina Falencki - Camp Oakes

Camp Oakes is more than just a regular summer camp. It has taught me things that I would never think of learning. When I came to camp for my first year I was so scared to do things like ride a hourse. Things like that let me overcome things in life. Before camo starts I feel so excited. I just love camp so much! The leaders are just so amazing. Every year I get so excited and I just love it so much. This is going ot be my fourth year going. My cabin mates means the world to me and they are so nice.

The YMCA means so much to me. Ms. Tracy and Ms. Beth does so much for us. The YMCA is good because if we didn't, we would get less money because our parent would have to quit their job or get fired.

My kids love the YMCA. In fact, they complain when I pick them up early because there is more to do at the Y than at home. The homework program is excellent. Each of my children do their homework at the Y which leaves more time at home to interact as a family. Both my wife and I sincerely appreciate the staff at the Y and feel secure in leaving our children there.

We are beyond happy with the Peterson YMCA! The entire staff is fun and friendly while maintaining AMAZING control of the students. The YMCA room is very clean and well maintained. The staff goes to great lengths to engage the students in constructive, fun and age appropriate activities. We feel truly blessed to get to be a part of this program! (And their Valentine's Day dance was pretty fantastic!)

The reason why I work for the "Y" KidZone is because I love the kids that we look after. I have grown a strong connection with all the different children. I know we make these kids happy and strong which makes me happy to be here when I work.

Years ago I had a little boy in the program named Garrett Ewald, now called Garrett Ryan. He was a bright and funny child. He was caring and very respectful; he also really loved the YMCA. He ended up moving to the Peterson program where he grew to enjoy the YMCA even more through the years. He occasionally acted in small roles, commercials, and photo shoots, and he would always tell Tomia and me about these great opportunities. He is now going into the 7th grade, and came to visit Peterson and Moffett YMCA today to announce that he has a leading role playing Judy's best friend in the new Judy Moody move coming out tomorrow. He wanted to thank the Y and tell us how much he enjoyed his time here...refusing to say who was his favorite, Moffett or Peterson, ëcause you know I asked. :) Although he wanted to come and say thanks for all the support, he was kind enough to bring a movie booklet and sign autographs for all the kids at both sites.

It is a safe place to have my child go to after school. The director is very experienced. I am very lucky to have her stay the entire time my child has been at the YMCA. I think it was great to hae the older children help organize the sports for the younger kids. They still come up to my son and give him pictures and call him coach. It was a great way to develop leadership in the older kids.

My child loves Seacliff YMCA. She participates in Friday Fun nights, loves all activities like Track and Field and outside play time. She doesnít mind doing homework when asked and loves going in the morning on days when I have to go to work early. She has about 6 friends she now sees outside of school because of the YMCA. The teachers always correct a child in the most constructive way. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fact we have a bathroom inside the bldg!!!!! My daughter often brushes her teeth at the Y when we have a really rushed morning. She also changes for dance class when I pick her up in the afternoon. LOVE Ms. Theresa!!!!! Such a great attitude!!!!

Cynthia - Afterschool Care

Hi my name is Cynthia, I'm 11 years old. I have been in the YMCA for 2 years. I want to tell you why I like the YMCA. My first reason is that we do homework and they help us with our homework. My other reason is that we do games and free play and crafts. My last reason is that they give us snack and I love the staff. That's why I like the YMCA, Merry Christmas!
