Teen Club Before & Afterschool Program

I have always enjoyed working with children. I came to the Y with intentions to further my career working with children. Every day at the Y I learn new experiences and get to see a different side to kids out of a classroom setting. I have always been blessed to have the opportunity to work with an amazing and caring staff at Smith.

My son looks forward to the days he is at the Y for longer periods of time, including asking if he can go to "early" Y. This makes me feel comfortable having him in childcare while I pursue a degree.

All the teachers have been really nice and helpful. Thanks to Ms Destiny, Ms Teresa, Ms Chante, Ms Amanda, Ms "Panda Amanda" (the other Amanda) and Ms Danielle. My son just adores all of them:) and they will be missed when we transfer to Peterson next year. They're really great with kids!

The summer before Kindergarten, my son was a very introverted, shy child who was reluctant to join in group activities. We enrolled him in the Y Summer Camp program and he totally blossomed into a confident, friendly outgoing child with leadership skills!

Everyone is welcoming. My son loves Sarah, SeTasha, Claudia, and Tristan. He asks everyday if he can stay late. If he didn't feel comfortable there, he wouldn't go.

We are beyond happy with the Peterson YMCA! The entire staff is fun and friendly while maintaining AMAZING control of the students. The YMCA room is very clean and well maintained. The staff goes to great lengths to engage the students in constructive, fun and age appropriate activities. We feel truly blessed to get to be a part of this program! (And their Valentine's Day dance was pretty fantastic!)

The YMCA means so much to me. Ms. Tracy and Ms. Beth does so much for us. The YMCA is good because if we didn't, we would get less money because our parent would have to quit their job or get fired.
