The YMCA has been serving and engaging the residents of Orange County since the first YMCA in Santa Ana was founded in the 1880’s. Today, the YMCA of Orange County serves 50,000 people annually through our four (4) Health & Wellness facilities and 100+ program locations throughout the county. Programs offered by the YMCA include Afterschool Care, Aquatics, Camp, Community Services, Health & Wellness, Sports, Y-Guides & Princesses Parent-Child Programs, and Youth Development. The YMCA is dedicated to ensuring all members of our community can experience the fellowship, programs, and benefits that come with YMCA membership by engaging volunteers in raising funds to support financial assistance scholarships. The YMCA of Orange County is a non-profit, charitable organization that serves the entire community. About our President
Jeff McBride
President & CEO, YMCA of Orange County
Jeff McBride has a rich history of service and leadership in the communities he has touched. Jeff has served the YMCA for over 23 years in multiple operational and leadership positions, coming to Orange County from Fort Bend, Texas where he managed three large YMCA’s as Group Executive Director. As a YMCA executive, he served as Vice Chair of the Strategic Plan Board Development Committee, Chair of the Major Facilities Conference Committee, and Senior Program Director for the Downtown YMCA in Dallas. Jeff ‘s passion for service and community development is also exemplified by his participation and leadership in many community groups, including the Katy Independent School District Leadership Council, Partners in Education Group, and Grace United Methodist Church Council.
McBride received a Bachelor’s Degree in Rhetoric from the University of California Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of the Rice University Executive Education “Leading and Managing High Performance Teams” program and the Lee Hecht Harrison “Strategic Directions Class.” He is also a graduate of the YMCA Executive Development program and a member of the Association of YMCA Professionals.
As YMCA of Orange County President and CEO, McBride oversees a $30-million enterprise which includes four full-facility locations and over 100 community program locations throughout the county. McBride provides visionary leadership to the YMCA staff members and volunteers and promotes a culture focused on the mission of the YMCA: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build spirit, mind, and body for all. McBride has been successful in building a strong foundation and providing strategic direction for the future of the YMCA in Orange County.
Through the cultivation of strong leadership teams, dedicated boards, and new partnerships, McBride fosters the development and delivery of essential programs and services for the residents of Orange County. Jeff says, “I am blessed to work with dedicated volunteers and staff that are committed to the YMCA’s vision of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. I am honored to have an impact on the lives of the kids and families in Orange County and am excited to be a part of many great things to come!” Under Jeff’s visionary leadership, the YMCA of Orange County will continue to provide and expand accessible and important programs for all Orange County residents. |
