NEW COMPUTER LAB FOR COSTA MESA YOUTH: PLUGGING IN CEREMONY
AT & T Grant provides new computers for Davis YMCA Afterschool Program
 AT&T awarded the Central Orange Coast YMCA a $5,000 grant to purchase new computers for the Davis Magnet School YMCA Afterschool Program. Davis Elementary just (re)opened its doors as a new math, science and technology magnet under the leadership of Dr. Kevin Rafferty. The YMCA provides before and after school care right on campus, and is now better able to support the needs of the school and students. “The children will really benefit from having the computers available to complete assignments and we are also able to supplement our curriculum and activities with educational games and computer literacy clubs,” says Bernadette Alvarez, the director at the center. “We are grateful to AT & T for their support.”
On Thursday, December 3rd at 4pm, at Davis Elementary YMCA, Executives from AT & T and the YMCA of Orange County will join the children and staff at Davis YMCA for a plugging in ceremony to celebrate the new computer lab. Thanks to the generosity of AT&T, the Davis YMCA can offer expanded curriculum and meet the evolving technology needs of students.
