Students Support our Troops through the Holiday Season
Peterson YMCA, Huntington Beach Cub Scout Pack 290 and Peterson Elementary School partnered with a local non-profit organization - Words of Comfort, Hope and Promise - this holiday season to support our troops. The children honored the troops by collecting donations, stockings, and letters of encouragement to package and send overseas in honor and appreciation of their service to our country.
The children put together over 200 stockings filled with snacks and personal care items they collected for the service project. The stockings were sent along with other care packages and the soldiers graciously received the items on November 28th.
