MICROSOFT® GIVES YMCA OF ORANGE COUNTY A $1,050,000 GIFT!

Microsoft® has awarded the YMCA of Orange County with a software grant of $1 Million dollars and an additional award of $50,000 to support programs. The gift will be used to support technology upgrades that will enable us to better serve the community and our program participants. The YMCA of Orange County is the largest provider of licensed school-age care in the county, with 51 licensed programs on school campuses as well as several government supported programs and Teen Clubs.

Thanks to the generosity of Microsoft, we can purchase software that will enable us to support the needs of students and families we serve on a daily basis. “The children will benefit immensely from having computers and programs available to complete assignments and we are also able to supplement our curriculum and activities with educational games and computer related projects,” says Cara Owens, Vice President of Operations. “In today’s environment, it is critical that youth acquire computer literacy skills and we are grateful to Microsoft for their support.”

On Thursday, October 29th, Microsoft presented Jeff McBride, President and CEO of YMCA of Orange County, with the check at their new store opening in the Mission Viejo Mall. Thank you Microsoft for partnering with us in building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities!
