A BRAND NEW DAY
The Y Unveils New Brand Strategy to Further Community Impact
| |
The Y has always been about changing lives for the better, and today we renew our commitment to work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. For the first time in 43 years, the Y is implementing a national rebranding and revitalization strategy to increase understanding of the impact our organization makes in the community, so that more people take advantage of the YMCA's unique capacity to foster lasting personal and social change. Our programs and services are a means to a greater end and we hope to further engage our communities in the meaningful work we do every day.
Through this national revitalization effort, the Y will extend its reach into communities to nurture the potential of youth and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being and provide opportunities to support our neighbors. We will do this by:
| • |
Helping more children deepen their positive values, commitment to service and motivation to learn; |
| • |
Providing opportunities for families to build stronger bonds, achieve greater work life balance and become more engaged in their communities through the Y; and |
| • |
Supporting individuals as they improve their well-being and connect with people who care. |
The new brand strategy – the result of more than two years of analysis and research – was introduced at a National Press Club event on July 12th that included leaders from the philanthropic and nonprofit communities. With the strategy, comes a more forward-looking logo that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of our organization and a framework that focuses resources on three core areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. This is our cause and we hope that you will join us in our shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
