The YMCA of Orange County ("YMCAOC") is
committed to respecting the privacy rights of all visitors
to our website. This privacy statement is intended to
provide you with the information on how we collect,
use and store the information that you provide, in order
for you to make appropriate choices for sharing information
with us. If we make any changes to this statement, they
will be posted on this page and will be effective when
posted. Your continued use of this Site following the
posting of any change shows your acceptance of the changes.
At this time, the YMCA does not have certification by
a third party online privacy seal.
WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?
YMCAOC does not require that visitors reveal any personally
identifying information in order to access our website.
However, we may request such information to, among other
things, allow a visitor to register online for one of
our programs [other examples, eg., to receive one of
our newsletters]. Collection of personal information
for these services may include the collection of your
name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date
of birth, and/or credit card number. We only collect
personally identifiable information that is voluntarily
submitted to us.
As with most sites, certain non-personally identifiable
information is recorded by the standard operation
or our server. Such information may include: the name
of the ISP from which a visitor accesses the Internet,
the date and time a visitor accessed the site, the
Internet address of the Web site from which a visitor
entered our site and where a visitor goes after leaving
this Site. This information may be used to measure
and monitor the use of our Site and to improve its
content.
USE OF INFORMATION
YMCAOC uses this information to create and maintain
registration records for each person registered
to one of our programs. E-mail addresses are used
to communicate with kids and their parents about
YMCAOC programs, as well as activity on the site
and other features. None of this information is
sold or rented to any third parties. We encourage
parents to be involved with all of their child’s
online activities.
LINKS TO OTHER SITES
We may create links to the websites of affiliated
or unaffiliated organizations. We will do our best
to make sure that every link we have on our site
works and sends you to a safe place on the Internet.
Although we will make every effort to link only
to sites that meet similar standards for maintaining
each individual’s right to privacy, we cannot
guarantee the content of third party sites. Additionally,
many other sites that are not associated or authorized
by YMCAOC may have links leading to our site. YMCAOC
cannot control these links and is not responsible
for any content appearing on those sites.
POLICIES FOR CHILDREN 12 YEARS OLD AND UNDER
YMCAOC will not collect personally identifying information
through our Website from children under the age
of 12 without prior parental permission. We encourage
parents to take an active role to protect the privacy
of their children and to prevent inappropriate uses
of information about their children. Parents should
instruct their children never to give out real names
or any other identifying information without first
getting permission.

her visit on the website. This site does not currently
use “cookie” technology. Most Internet

SECURITY
Our Site uses industry standard security measures
to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration
of the information under our control. While there
is no such thing as “perfect security” on
the Internet, we will try our best to make sure
that your transmissions to and from the Site are
kept secure.
Access to personal information is limited to employees
and program volunteers who need access to this information
in order to do their job or provide you a service.
