VIP Event Focuses Support for New Santa Ana YMCA

We are very pleased to report that our Capital Campaign Kickoff and Recognition Reception last week for the new Santa Ana YMCA was a rousing success. The venue, Crevier Classic Cars in Costa Mesa, was a perfect setting. The food and Levendi wines were excellent. But, most important, the gathering brought together a wide spectrum of business, government and community leaders who support the vision of making YMCA programs easily accessible to the youth and families of Santa Ana and the surrounding area.

Attendees were introduced to Jeff McBride, newly appointed President and CEO for the YMCA of Orange County. Santa Ana YMCA Executive Director Jon Voget provided an overview of the project’s evolution to date. And special recognition included the Segerstrom family, the Van Cleve Foundation Trust, the Sares-Regis Group and others who have laid a strong base for this vital resource.

A highlight of the evening was a heartfelt address by a young lady describing the unique value she has found at the YMCA and the benefits of having a new facility nearby. The program concluded with remarks from Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido on the impact this project will have for all citizens of his city.

The evening achieved our dual goals of building awareness for the project and providing motivation for additional participation in the capital campaign. In fact, additional gifts have already come in as a result. Thanks to all who attended.
