What is the CHC Program?

The YMCA Community Services Childcare Health Consultation Program provides no cost health, safety and behavioral support consultations, trainings and referrals to childcare providers and centers caring for children 0-5 years old. Our team of Behavioral Health Specialists provide their services via phone consultations, onsite observation and through community advocacy and linkages in English and Spanish.

• The Childcare Health Consultation Program is provided by the YMCA of Orange County’s Community Services Division and made possible by funding from the Children & Families First Commission of Orange County.
• This resource helps to ensure that Orange County’s children enter school healthy, developmentally on target, and ready to learn. This service is available to childcare providers, agency personnel, health professionals, and parents, at no cost. Download Brochure

Our services include:

• Phone Consultations
  We provide Behavioral Developmental Health information, resources, and referrals to childcare providers and parents.
• On Site Child Observations
  We offer an on site observation of the child’s behavior in the childcare setting to help you develop an action plan to work more effectively with the child.
• On Site Program Observation
  At your request, we will help develop and implement positive modifications to create the best environment possible for the children in your care.
