2008 Partner with Youth Campaign
The 2008 Partner with Youth Campaign is almost upon us!
I
am very honored and excited to be this year’s campaign
chair. We
have a very dedicated and enthusiastic team of campaigners and I am confident
that we will be able to achieve our campaign goal of $140,000.00. Numerous
meetings/brainstorming sessions have already occurred to ensure that we will
not only bring in the dollars but that it will be a fun campaign. Of course
sharing the YMCA story makes it even more worthwhile. I challenge each
and every one of you to make a difference in someone’s life by donating
and encourage your friend’s and associates to do the same. Together
we CAN make a difference. Suparna Lundquist, 2008 Partner with Youth Campaign
Chair
The 2008 Partner with Youth Campaign is well under way! Our
goal for 2008 is to raise $140,000 to support current and future
YMCA programs in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley. All
of the proceeds from the campaign stay right here in our community. These
funds provide financial assistance to families in need, and provide
low and no cost programs to the community.
Campaign funds will
help provide financial assistance for a new program for 2008: Middle
School Enrichment programs at Dwyer Middle School in Huntington
Beach. The program will begin in January, and will offer students a safe
environment after school until 6 pm each day. Kids will have homework help,
tutoring, sports activities, cooking and more!
Funds will also help to
support programs at the Oak View Community Center. The
YMCA operates a drop in sports center from 2 pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday,
and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. Participants have the opportunity
to participate in various sports programming, including soccer, basketball, volleyball
and Jiu Jitsu. This program is offered free of charge to participants,
thanks to campaign funds.
Over 100 YMCA members will be volunteering their time during
the month of February, to share their YMCA stories and raise
funds for the campaign. If you would like additional information,
please contact Taina Hyvren at THyvren@ymcaoc.net
