Board Spotlight

Patricia Margosian is the Business Development Representative for Paychex, Inc; a local payroll company who specializes in servicing small to medium sized businesses.  As Business Development Representative, Ms. Margosian works alongside a team of seven sales representatives’ and is responsible for the marketing activities.  Patricia believes that business development encompasses developing not only the business of Paychex, but that of all the company’s clients and other professional contacts. 

In the past, Ms. Margosian has worked as a lifeguard, sailing and swim instructor, and camp counselor for the Girl Scout Council of Orange County, YMCA Tarrytown, New York and Long Beach, Fairfield. She has interned for Miller Freeman UK in London, England and past 27th District, California State Senator-Betty Karnette. In her college career, Patricia Created and Co-Produced the Marymount College closed circuit television and radio station, MMCTV & Radio.

Ms. Margosian was born in Los Alamitos, California. She attended Saint Joseph’s High School in Lakewood, California and received a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Communications and a Minor in Political Science from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. While in her third year of college, Ms. Margosian studied abroad at the University of Westminster in London, England. In Patricia’s constant quest for information and knowledge, she has attended Golden West College, Long Beach City College, and received her Paralegal Certificate from Cerritos College in 2004.

An active member of her surrounding communities, Ms. Margosian has been a Girl Scout since 1985, was the Co-Leader of a Girl Guide troop in London, England; is currently the President of her BNI chapter; has just recently been inducted into The Robert Mayer Huntington Beach Leadership Academy; a member of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, Stanton Chamber of Commerce, Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of Leadership Long Beach Class of 2006.  Patricia joined the West County Family YMCA Board of Managers in 2006.

Recently, The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce honored Ms. Margosian as the Ambassador of the Year 2006. In addition, the Long Beach Bar Association awarded her the Legal Staff Person of the Year 2005. This award is presented to the employee who most impacted his or her law firm through hard work, enthusiasm, cooperation and client relationships.

Patricia’s hobbies include: Swimming, Dancing, Singing, Laughing, and Volunteering. Something few people know about her is that she will be President of The United States of America and she believes that the key to success is to ask a billion questions and never regret a decision; just learn from them and move on.
