Your Board

Your Board of Managers makes things happen in our community. The board is comprised of community leaders who commit several hours a month to helping better the lives of those around them. The board meets once a month (the third Friday) at 7:00 a.m. We review various opportunities to expand or change our programs, areas of need in our community, and reports from our committees. We have committees for strategic planning, board development, major gifts, current support, and marketing, among others. Most of our board members have had contact with one or more of our Y programs such as child care or one of the parent-child programs. Your board includes representatives from many fields including law, academia, and finance.

The most common link we share is a desire to help children and their families in our community to grow stronger.
A recent visitor to our board meeting last month told us that our board meeting was one of the best board meetings he had ever attended. That was awesome to hear. We feel that we have great meetings but to have a visitor say so was pretty sweet, especially as the nice words came from our new YMCA of OC CEO Jeff McBride. I will tell you that every person who heard Jeff speak at our meeting told me that they were impressed by his speech and his actions in molding the Y to better serve our needs. Stay tuned as there are a lot of changes ahead.
