CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH PROCLAIMS JANUARY 21st AS NEWPORT-MESA FAMILY YMCA DAY
Mayor Gardner recognizes the Y for their contribution to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility
Saturday, January 21st, Newport-Mesa Family YMCA will celebrate the grand re-opening of the renovated facility on University Drive and the proclamation by Nancy Gardner, Mayor of the City of Newport Beach, that declares January 21st as the official Newport-Mesa Family YMCA Day in the city of Newport Beach.
The Newport-Mesa Family YMCA plays an important role in the development of our youth, the support of healthy living in our community, and the advancement of social responsibility in the City of Newport Beach and across the nation. They serve the community as a resource to nurture the potential of every child, to improve the nationís health, and to give back and provide support to our neighbors through community service, volunteerism, and service learning programs. Ron Erickson, Executive Director for the Newport-Mesa Family YMCA, expressed his gratitude to the city for recognizing the positive impact the Y makes in the community: "We are very excited about this honor and grateful to Mayor Gardner and the Newport Beach City Council for recognizing the important role the Y plays in advancing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility."
