Programs & Ages

What do Y-Guides and Princess do?

Participants in the Y-Guides and Princesses program are organized into tribes that are designed to have parents and their children spend one-on-one time with each other. Tribal activities include meetings, events and outings and campouts that build skills, character, and create life-long memories together.

Program Objectives

The Y-Guides and Princesses program is about strengthening the relationship between parents and their children.

The Y-Guides and Princesses program will:

Foster companionship and understanding and set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child.
Build a sense of self-esteem and personal worth.
Expand awareness of spirit, mind, and body.
Provide the framework to meet a mutual need of spending enjoyable, constructive, and quality time together.
Enhance the quality of family time.
Emphasize the vital role that parents play in the growth and development of their children.
Offer an important and unique opportunity to develop and enjoy volunteer leadership skills

The Y-Guides / Princesses program is available for both parents to participate in.

Y-Papooses for Parents and Preschoolers 4-5 years old
Y-Braves for Mothers and Sons K-3rd grades
Y-Guides for Fathers and Sons K-3rd grades
Y-Princesses for Fathers and Daughters K-3rd grade
Y-Maidens for Mothers and Daughters K-3rd grade
Y-Trail Blazers
Y-Trail Mix
Y-Trail Mates

Y-Trail Maidens
for Parents and Older Children grades 4 and up
Y-Dream Catchers for Parents and Children K-3rd grade (Family Program)

Y-Papooses

Purpose The purpose of the Y-Papoose Program is to get an early start on fostering understanding and companionship between parent and child.
Slogan "Friends Forever"
Aims

To keep my thoughts happy.
To be friends forever with my father or mother.
To love my family.
To listen while others speak.
To be kind to my neighbors.
To keep the world around us clean and beautiful.

Pledge We, parent and child, promise to be friendly, helpful, and loving to each other, our family, and our community as we seek a world pleasing to the eye of the Great Spirit.


Y-Guides

Purpose The purpose of the Y-Guide Program is to foster understanding and companionship between father and son.
Slogan "Pals Forever"
The slogan, "Pals Forever," does not mean that father and son relate to each other as equals, such as two boys who are pals. Rather, it means that father and son have a close, enduring relationship in which there is communication, understanding, and companionship. The Y-Guide Program encourages such a relationship by providing a means for father and son to share enjoyable experiences, to observe and learn about one another, and to develop mutual respect.

Y-Princesses

Y-Trail Blazers, Y-Trail Mates, Y-Trail Mix, Y-Trail Maidens

Purpose The purpose of the Y-Trail Program is to foster a healthy relationship between parent and child built on trust, companionship, understanding, and communication.
Slogan "Parent and Child, blazing new trails together"
Aims

To strengthen the bonds of companionship with my (father/mother/son/daughter)
To increase in fitness, physical skills, and body development.
To grow in wisdom, intellectual curiosity, and independence.
To develop reverence for the Creator, spiritual understanding, and faith for daily living.
To gain in appreciation, love, and support of my family.

Pledge As a Y-Trail (Blazer/Mate/Maiden), my pledge is to strengthen the bonds of companionship with my (father/mother/son/daughter) as we explore our environment, our community, and our lives together, seeking to grow in spiritual, mental, and physical fitness, and in service to others.


Y-Dream Catchers

Purpose The purpose of the Dream Catcher Program is to foster understanding and companionship between parent and child.
Slogan "Friends Forever"
Aims

To keep my thoughts happy
To be friends forever with my father or mother.
To love my family.
To listen while other speaks.
To be kind to my neighbors.
To keep the world around us clean and beautiful.

Pledge We, parent and child, promise to be friendly, helpful, and loving to each other, our family, and our community as we seek a world pleasing to the eye of the Great Spirit.
