Reach Out Gala 2010

Description:

On November 6, 2010, The YMCA of Orange County, The YMCA of Orange and The Anaheim Family YMCA will join together for an unprecedented collaborative event, the YMCA Reach Out Gala benefiting YMCA afterschool programs throughout Orange County. Collectively, the three YMCA's in Orange County serve approximately 10,000 children a day in various afterschool programs including: sports, dance, after school enrichment and tutoring and mentoring programs. Together, the YMCA is the single largest provider of afterschool programs in Orange County.

Meet Chelsea Starr:

"My name is Chelsea. I attended the YMCA after-school program since the 1st grade. I was a quiet, reserved kid with a short attention span. My life at home was not the most stable. Financial hardships even temporarily left my mom and me homeless. The constant support in our lives was the after-school program at the Y. Surrounded by people who cared, I could focus on doing my homework and having fun with friends. Y leaders took their time to help me learn and see what was possible. "The Y Travel Raffle – Win the trip of your dreams!" – The grand prize will be a $5,000 travel voucher from World Travel Bureau. Only a maximum of 650 tickets will be sold! Event Cause:

Supporting the YMCAs in Orange County (Anaheim, Orange & Orange Co.) and their efforts to provide character building after school programs to children in our community regardless of their ability to afford it. – Click here for event case.
