My experience in the YMCA swim team was amazing. I have a great time at practice every day. I've even made a lot of new friends and have improved my strokes a lot. It is better now, and I'm very happy about it.

All the staffs that support us on the swim team are impeccable and wonderful. My favorite day was when we played water polo.

Chris is so happy to make new friends and to be out and about. Thank You, again to you all and the YMCA for such a wonderful special program for our young adults. Chris would be sitting in front of a television or playing video games; passing time but it would most certainly, not be a life.

MY son and I enjoy playing soccer at the Y. Their soccer leagues are competitive and fun. We like how the staff treats us like we are family to them.

Before joining the program, I had always been a positive person and I still am. I always wanted to see the good in life, no matter how terrible it was at the moment. At first, I saw everything in the program behind a rose colored glass and along the way it cracked and broke apart. Even so, I just appreciated the program more than I did at first. Along the way I gained experience and dared myself to try new things. I told myself to speak my mind without caring what others thought. Although I always try to see the good in things, I admit that I was scared. I was scared of the outcome and I was scared of regret but I learned to see past that.

My first Bob was an interesting experience; I wasn't used to being a freshman. In the end I didn't want to go home and I felt the same with Bob 2 and Sacramento. However, at my first Bob when the forum group was going to be separated into groups I decided to go into a group by myself with no one else from the Santa Ana group and during the forum group sessions I also decided to go up and speak for a bill. In the end I was murdered with questions that I didn't even understand and I hardly spoke in my new group after splitting up with the other freshman from Santa Ana. The moment I was alone and I left the microphone I was filled with regret but I learned to get over it. At Sacramento I wouldn't stop asking questions during my senate session and I spoke up for my forum group. I can say I grew up in the program, that I'm not as afraid as I used to be. I learned to live without letting the past bother me and I'm glad I joined the program with my friend that day.

I was able to enjoy YMCA swim programs as a parent and employee this summer. I was fortunate to be able to work for the Y. I was able to see and experience so many wonderful programs. I taught swim classes and enrolled in the Parent and Me program with my 1 1/2 year old son. My son loved the class and learned a lot. He looked forward to each class. He was excited as soon as we stepped on the pool deck. I would observe the class and all of the families involved. Many of the children who were scared lost their fear of water and soon had a look of joy on their face when they came to class. Overall I think that this program helped a lot of children this summer. It is programs like these that the community can really benefit from.

Through collaborations with organizations like the Arthritis Foundation, the Y is able to better reach all residents of our community and provided them with quality programs they can fully participate in. The Y provides the Arthritis Foundation with a place in which they can send their clients to help elevate pain in their daily life.
