TOGETHER WE CAN

Volunteer with the YMCA of Orange County

The YMCA has volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups who want to make a difference in their community and support our non-profit efforts in Orange County, Riverside County and San Gabriel Valley.

Types of Volunteer Opportunities

Below are the volunteer opportunities that have been created for individual adults. Please select an opportunity that meets your interests and commitment level.

Days of Service  Days of Service provide needed manpower for Y events. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for individuals who want a short term commitment, like working around people and who enjoy the recreational side of the Y. A typical assignment during a Day of Service might include setting up activities, registration support, running an activity booth, or other related assignments.

Fundraising  The Y strives to keep programs open to all, which means the need for funds to support our scholarship program. Individual volunteers can help us fundraise by taking part in our Annual Campaign or creating their own fundraiser that will benefit the Y.  This opportunity is ideal for groups who want a flexible volunteer schedule, are comfortable asking others to help in a cause they believe in and who wish to impact the opportunities that others have to learn, grow and thrive. Fundraising volunteers are typically committing to a few hours a week over a 2-3 month period.

Corporate and Group On Site Volunteer Days are divided into 3 parts. First, participants will let more connected to their community by learning about the programs and services offered by the Y. The Y will also provide opportunities for employees to get involved further. Next, participants will have a sense of accomplishment and get out of the pace of a regular work day by assisting the Y with a needed volunteer work. Finally, a Y staff member will lead the group in a meaningful team-building experience.
