What do Y-Guides and Princess do?
Participants in the Y-Guides and
Princesses program are organized into tribes that are designed
to have parents and their children
spend one-on-one time with each other. Tribal activities include
meetings, events and outings and campouts that build skills,
character, and create life-long memories together.
Program Objectives
The Y-Guides and Princesses program is about strengthening
the relationship between parents and their children.
The Y-Guides and Princesses program will:
Foster companionship and understanding and set a foundation
for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child.
Build a sense of self-esteem and personal worth.
Expand awareness of spirit, mind, and body.
Provide the framework to meet a mutual need of spending enjoyable,
constructive, and quality time together.
Enhance the quality of family time.
Emphasize the vital role that parents play in the growth and
development of their children.
Offer an important and unique opportunity to develop and enjoy
volunteer leadership skills

get an early start on fostering understanding and companionship
between parent and child. |

The slogan, "Pals Forever," does not mean
that father and son relate to each other as equals, such
as two boys who are pals. Rather, it means that father and
son have a close, enduring relationship in which there is
communication, understanding, and companionship. The Y-Guide
Program encourages such a relationship by providing a means
for father and son to share enjoyable experiences, to observe
and learn about one another, and to develop mutual respect. |
