I have been with the YMCA for almost 10 years (September 2017). Before the YMCA, I worked in a preschool program while attending the University of CA, Santa Barbara for my bachelors degree. I love my position because I can do everything from working with the children, marketing, budgeting, and making sure everything is running smoothly here at my site. I have developed longtime relationships with my families and staff here at Bergeson.

I am married with 2 kids, Elise and Zaden. We also have 2 dogs, Pink and Lucy. I enjoy reading, dancing, and watching Disney movies with my daughter.

“We moved to Las Flores from Boston in August and I visited the Y site unannounced seeking information for the fall. I was warmly welcomed by Rebecca who took the time to show me and my 8-year old around and answered all my questions. Coming from a Catholic School setting in the Northeast to a public school in Southern California, I was very concerned about the quality of education and after-school support I would find. While I still have concern about some of what I observe at Las Flores Elementary, I have never been anything less than impressed with how the Y staff work collaboratively to create a positive environment where the children appear to be happy, involved and excited to be a part of an after-school ‘family’.” – Las Flores YMCA Parent

“We love the YMCA and especially Ms. Rebecca!”
