The YMCA of Orange County has a long tradition
of working with youth in under-served communities. The
YMCA provides safe places and structured activities during
non-school hours for more than 3,200 youth who otherwise
would be home alone or unsupervised in their neighborhoods.
The programs teach middle school and older youth how to
make responsible choices while building self-esteem, teamwork
skills, and healthy lifestyle values.
Youth Development Department-Program Purpose
Youth Development programs are offered to improve academic
performance, develop character and leadership, and foster
civic responsibility in youth. We enhance the lives of
youth, their families and provide enrichment to the community.
