Youth Basketball Leagues!

Learning to Win in the Biggest Game of All…. The Game of Life!

The YMCA offers Youth Basketball Leagues for children ages 6 -13. Participants learn the fundamentals of the sport and develop skills in the following areas: conditioning, agility, ball handling, passing & catching, defense, moves with/without the basketball, rebounding, shooting, and attitude.

In addition to practices and skill development, youth engage in competition with other local YMCA teams. Team formation is determined after an initial skill assessment of all participants to establish appropriate developmental and age divisions. YMCA Youth Basketball Leagues provide a fun and supportive environment for your child to learn and grow that emphasizes character development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Uniform Fee - $40
The uniform fee is a one-time fee that you will not need to pay again unless you need another uniform. The uniform fee includes: a reversible jersey, shorts, and a t-shirt.

Age Determination
Boys' age determination date is September 1, 2010
Girls' age determination date is January 1, 2010

Division A - 6 & 7 yr old boys & girls
Division B - 8 & 9 yr olds boys & girls
Division C - 10 & 11 yr old boys & girls
Division D - 12 & 13 yr old boys & girls
Division E - 14 - 16 yr old boys & girls

Children participating in the Competitive league will play against teams from their home base YMCA as well as other participating YMCAs across Orange County. Skills assessment will determine the skill level of each child to ensure proper placement in the appropriate league.
*Travel will be required
