Elevating the C in the YMCA

At the YMCA of Orange County our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The CARES program provides families and individuals the opportunities to experience and know Christ through community-based programs, activities and partnerships with churches and Christian organizations.

CARES In The Community

This past summer, the Newport-Mesa CARES Team served alongside Trellis to help a terminally ill woman named Erika clean and clear out her house. We as a CARES team try to share the love of Jesus by helping people in a very practical way with no strings attached. Erika was not a believer 6 months ago but has since been baptized.

Our Program At A Glance

The YMCA was birthed on June 6, 1844 when a 22-year-old George Williams gathered twelve men and started a Bible study in London, England. Williams was deeply concerned about the physical and spiritual well-being of young men who were flocking to London from their rural homes to seek employment in the ever expanding industrialization of the day. As a result, the YMCA reached many young men for Jesus Christ.
Now, almost 175 years later the YMCA of Orange County is striving to continue the legacy established by George Williams.
