Staff Development Day As part of our effort to provide the highest quality care and curriculum for our families, our team of 500+ child care staff attended a full day professional development training. The agenda was robust filled with topics including: • Leadership Development (Conflict Resolution, Active Listening, Giving Feedback, Growth Mindset, Customer Service) • Diversity • Behavior Guidance • Inclusion Practices • STEM The day was made possible with training support from our partners: OCDE, Lakeshore Learning, The Energy Coalition, and Chapman University. Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) In 2018/2019, YMCA of Orange County has partnered with the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) to conduct Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) assessments through the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) to support the improvement of quality in early learning programs throughout Orange County’s IMPACT sites, including multiple school district preschools, private family home care and corporate childcare programs. “The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is proud of our partnership with the YMCA.
