YMCA of Orange County 2018-2019 Child Care Annual Report 3 Our Programs Child Care Preschool/Pre-K Research-based curriculum that promotes exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity and lifelong critical thinking skills. Child Care School Age TK-5/6th Middle School 6/7-8th Provides a comprehensive before and after school care program that allows students to engage in the learning process through daily physical and educational activities, STEM activities, homework support, arts and more! Earn a Bike A program where students, along with their parents, participate in an 8-week health and wellness program consisting of exercise and nutrition classes. Once completed, the students are awarded with a new bicycle, helmet and lock. Outdoor Education Camp E.L.K. The Y provides a unique experience for campers to explore the great outdoors through science activities based off the State Board of Education Science Framework. S.T.E.M. Curriculum The Y prepares children for success with enrichment programs that develop knowledge and application of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Physical Education Program The Y PE Program is modeled after the PE Content Standards for CA Public Schools. This program is fully implemented by Y Staff making it cost efficient. Inclusion Helps children with special needs succeed in traditional after school settings while broadening the experience of the other children in the program. Club Curriculum Offers opportunities for students to learn about a variety of topics including: Art, Cooking, Photography, Engineering, Fitness, Science, Drama and more!
