Junior Guides Parent & Child Program
The purpose of Junior Guides is to strengthen the foundations of family by allowing for quality time to be spent between children and their parents. The program events and curriculum are geared toward youth 3-5 years of age. Throughout the program families will engage in activities that promote nature, family, fun and community.
The YMCA of Orange County serves over 7,000 people annually in the parent-child program Adventure Guides (formerly Indian Guides). We are excited to start our next adventure with a new program called Junior Guides for preschoolers and their parents. Just like Adventure Guides, Junior Guides is designed for families to create memories together and to develop friendships with other families.
The Junior Guides program runs from September-June. Each month will bring the opportunity to attend a daytime event or one night sleepover lead by YMCA staff. Examples of events include pool parties, strawberry picking, dances, and sleeping over at a baseball stadium. Families are able to select which events will work in their schedule.
The annual program registration fee is a $100 for a child & parent, $50 for additional siblings. Each child who registers will receive a backpack and patches at each event that follow the Junior Guides Star Journey.
