“Luis has been volunteering as a youth soccer coach for about 1.5 years. Luis has coached the six and under arena soccer for 5 seasons. He stresses sportsmanship, having fun and team work with his players. His practices are well planned out and fun. The youth soccer league participants have grown due to his devotion and commitment. He is a highly requested coach.”

“My name is Luis Estrada and I’ve been volunteering at the Y for almost 2 years. I would bring my son to the beginner classes the Y provided when he was three. He really enjoyed it. I really liked the friendly atmosphere at the Y. I eventually wanted him to play on a team. I know from experience that being part of a team helps build confidence in oneself. I played team sports when I was in high school. It was a great feeling to be part of a team.
After high school I joined the Marine Corps. and served my country for 4 years. I was approached by one of the coaches at the Y if I would be interested in being a volunteer coach. I wanted to put my son on a team and spend time with him. This gave me the perfect opportunity to do that. I was nervous my first season because I had never coached, but after the first season I began to grow attached to the kids I would be coaching. The thing that makes me want to keep doing it are the kids and the great parents who come to the practices and the games.”
