YMCA Service Learning Projects

Service Learning projects offer both youth and adults an opportunity to learn about important issues, take action, and make a difference in the world around them! More than volunteering, service-learning is a deliberate process through which people young people figure out what excites them, and what skills and passions they can share as part of the larger world.

Essentials for Young Lives

Donation Drive: May 7-28, 2018

The YMCA has partnered with HomeAid and the Children and Families Commission of Orange County to raise awareness and support homeless families as they rebuild their lives. Every child needs these essentials. Help them by donating diapers and baby wipes!

How it all comes together!

  1. YMCA child care centers and corporate partners collect diapers and baby wipes to support mothers living in shelters across Orange County.
  2. All items are gathered and delivered to the Builders for Babies event held at the Angels Stadium on June 8th.
  3. Items are distributed to mothers in need in our community.

Items Needed:

  • Diapers (sizes 4-6)
  • Baby wipes
