TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE TO ENGAGE MEMBERS IN FITNESS
The YMCA of Orange County will be hosting an event in the month of October that mixes technology with fitness.
On Thursday, October 1st, several Orange County YMCA fitness facilities will kick off the “Let’s Move” challenge which is powered by their Technogym® line of cardio equipment. This challenge will run through the 29th of October and participants who can accumulate the greatest amount of movements with the Technogym® equipment in this time period will have a chance to win prizes.
The “Let’s Move” campaign encourages people to challenge themselves into being more active facility members, and to promote the benefits of participating regularly in sports and physical activity across Orange County. The four YMCA fitness facilities taking part in the initiative are the Fullerton, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo and the Newport-Mesa Family YMCA. Members will have to create a free fitness tracking account and log in every time they exercise in order for their activity to be measured.
Participants will receive a free t-shirt upon sign up and prizes will be given to the top 3 individuals from each fitness facility with the 1st place prize winners from each location receiving an 8-session personal training package worth $400.
