Aliso Viejo Middle School Family YMCA Teen Club

At the Aliso Viejo Middle School Family Y, we care for kids! The YMCA Teen Club provides a safe environment for your teen (grades 6-8) to be with friends while participating in organized and fun activities. Character development activities will assist in providing the students with the tools needed to grow into successful young adults. Aliso Viejo Middle School Family YMCA gives your child something fun and constructive to do before and after school each day!

Read about our Service Learning Projects

C.A.R.E.S. Backpack Drive: In collaboration with C.A.R.E.S., we collect new backpacks and school supplies to help kids start the school year off right. C.A.R.E.S. is a YMCA program offering Christian Assistance Resources Education & Services to staff, members and communities.

Essentials Drive: collect essential items for homeless infants and toddlers, and help raise awareness to support homeless families.

Coastkeepers Beach Cleanup: in partnership with Orange County Coastkeepers, this service learning project includes educational activities and field excursions where kids will have the opportunity to learn about their local watershed, receive resources to take positive actions for their environment, learn about ocean pollution and make a difference themselves by conducting a beach clean-up.

Stocking for the Troops: The YMCA of Orange County partners with Words of Comfort and Hope and Promise to collect as many donations as possible to send to our troops oversea for the Christmas season.

Other Service Learning Projects: Jacket January, Spread the Love February, Family Cookie Exchange

Read about the Director, Paula Darden

Hi!  My name is Paula Darden and I have been working for the YMCA since 2005! I have my Bachelor of Science in University Studies with concentrations in Speech, Family Consumer Science, and Health from Western Michigan University.  GO WMU BRONCOS! I love working with children and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.  As the mother of three teenagers, I have learned that strengthening my understanding of families & health is vital, not just to my work at the YMCA, but in my personal life as well.  I love seeing children achieve a growing relationship with friends, academic success and strong moral character. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends & family, kayaking, camping, and playing music.  I enjoy creating a safe, positive & fun learning environment for teens to enjoy while at the YMCA.

Read about the Site Lead, Morgan

Hello! My name is Morgan and I am the Site Lead at AVMS. Here is a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Santa Cruz California, but moved down to Long Beach to complete my Bachelor degree in Healthcare Administration in 2012. I made the move to Orange County in 2014 upon graduation to live closer to my church, and sister. I am known to break out into song at any given time. I love to ice skate and surf. I care deeply about the next generation. I am an extrovert and my excitement level is always around a 9 or 10. Life is too short not to have fun and leave a legacy.
