Read about the Director, Stacey Kohler

Hi, my name is Stacey Kohler and I am the director at the Clarence Lobo YMCA. I received my B.S. degree in Child and Family Services from Ashford University, Iowa. I began my career working with children in Columbus, Ohio 14 years ago where I taught at-risk preschool-aged children. After a few years, I began working with children at a private school that needed curriculum assistance.  Seven years ago, I started working for the YMCA Early Adventures program in Chesapeake, Virginia and then transferred to the YMCA afterschool program in California. The YMCA has provided an abundance of ways for me to give back to the community and allowed me to do what I love; work with children and families. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show my love for people. Most of all, I love that the children never want to leave and how comfortable parents feel leaving their children at the Clarence Lobo YMCA!

“Dear Childcare Director Stacey at the YMCA… Just wanted to say thanks for everything you do. It has been awesome to have someone like you looking out for my daughter. I am both excited and nervous for the changes ahead and we will miss you guys, Scarlet has always enjoyed the Y and that has been great! You always go the extra mile and it is appreciated. Thanks again for all you have done for us!”

Staci L., YMCA Parent

“Last summer, we decided to enroll our daughter at the Lobo YMCA. We are very pleased with this choice! She has had a very positive experience. She is monitored and assisted as she socializes which, as an only child, she struggles with a bit. The staff are all so kind and keep encouraging her. This has really helped her gain and maintain friendships throughout this year. We feel she is blossoming in this caring environment headed by Miss Stacey. We highly recommend Lobo YMCA.”

-Justine Morgan Brown

“Dear Stacey… Thank you so much for your help with the centers this year. I appreciate your reliability and kindness with the children. They love it when you come. Enjoy your summer!”

Suzanne R., Clarence Lobo Teacher

“Dear Stacey… Wow! I enjoyed my visit more than you know! Thank you for taking the time to show me around. It is obvious that your leadership makes Clarence Lobo special. Your staff were energized and engaged and the kids were having a blast. You made my day! Thank you so much!”

Jeff M., YMCA CEO

“My son attended the summer program at Lobo Elementary. It was my first experience with the YMCA for daycare and we were both so pleased with the program. The schedule provided plenty of variety to keep my son interested and he loved the field trips. As a parent I really appreciated how organized the program was and how there were no surprises in terms of what my son needed to bring or wear for each day. We will definitely be coming back again next year. Stacey Kohler is an awesome director! Thank you for making this program available and for adhering to such high standards for fun and safety.”
