I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome our families to the Concordia YMCA. My name is Christine Slattery, and I am the Director of the YMCA program at Concordia Elementary.

I am a graduate of California State University, San Bernardino with my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and a concentration of Mathematics. I have been working with the YMCA for 2 years. Before the YMCA, I was a program supervisor for another Afterschool program, THINK Together. I was a manager there for 10 years. Needless to say, my passion is with children and extended learning time.

As we embark on a new school year, I am excited to see our children learn and grow to be the best versions of themselves. Here at the YMCA, we strive for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We will be working hard to build long lasting relationships, positive character and expand on our learning experiences.

I am excited to see what this year brings!

“It made me so happy to see Noah take that initiative [in raising funds for YMCA scholarship program] and this experience has made me very proud as a Mom! I am very grateful for this! I want you to know just how much I really appreciate [Angie], Ruby and Ashley, and the rest of your team at the Y. We have been through a lot together and I’ve always felt safe having[my child] in your care.”

“My son loves going to the YMCA. Being a full time working parent it gives me great comfort to know he is well cared for and having fun. The summer program is outstanding and full of awesome, fun activities. I highly recommend the program to anyone who needs before or after school care. The staff at the Concordia location are awesome. Thank You!”

– Concordia YMCA Parent

“My son has really grown more independent and secure through the YMCA program. He was very shy and nervous when he first began and now he can’t wait to be there with his new friends!”
