My name is Jean Alvarez and I am proud to be the Site Lead for Davis YMCA. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with Degree in Teaching. I have always enjoyed teaching and working with students and their families and have done so for more than 7 years in a variety of positions in education and supplemental education. My goal for Davis YMCA is to build a community where parents and children can feel safe while learning and can grow as a family. We at Davis YMCA believe learning and fun go hand in hand and the road to success is just a important as the destination. I look forward to serving as many families as we can and making them part of our DAVIS YMCA family.

In my free time I enjoy surfing , playing music, and being with my family. I love learning about new things and places, as well as doing science experiments that make a mess! I look forward to many adventures with our kids at Davis YMCA.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! My son Kai is signed up for your program at Davis Magnet and he and I both love it. It is so clean, fun, and well run and staffed. My son really loves and looks up to Michael as he always tells me. I am very impressed with how good he is with the kids. He is always so calm, professional and friendly. Alisha is so great and always friendly. I got to witness her this morning with a student that did something she was not supposed to and was very pleased at how she handled it. It is so nice to take Kai to a place he loves going and I trust he is safe and happy and having fun and know that when there are issues (which there always are with kids) that it is handled so well. You offer great programs! Thanks for everything.

I want to thank you and your staff for being so wonderful to my Victoria. Her school transition has been hard and I feel comforted by knowing she’s in good hands. Every day I come pick her up she is learning something new and enjoying herself. I love the YMCA set up and I am glad I went with that choice for after school care.

All staff has been very personable and professional. Mr. Michael is very engaging and caring with Victoria. The facility is super clean and feels very fun when I enter the room. I love all the things you guys have set up down to the color coordinated crayons, it’s very inviting.

I want to share my appreciation of Whitney’s hard work to the program and the children. I completely trust my child in her hands and with the YMCA. Whitney has communicated with me throughout the past couple months (because I inquired before we went into kindergarten and had send multiple emails). Whitney is helpful, assuring, professional and goes above and beyond to make a child and a parent feel confident and comfortable. I am so thankful for her hard work. The YMCA at Davis has the best vibe when I walk in the room, it’s a very positive, safe, learning environment that I find also to be nurturing and I am so happy to have this option of child care. Whitney is delightful and I am very thankful!
