Read about the Director

My career in childcare began as an early preschool teacher eight years ago here in Orange County. From there, I was offered the opportunity to teach horseback riding to children with special needs at the Shea Center, a local therapeutic horseback riding facility (a passion of mine outside of work.) My experience working with the Shea Center deepened my understanding of the needs of children of all abilities, and solidified my devotion to this field. I was drawn to the YMCA after discovering the need for dedicated childcare professionals within the field of afterschool care, and I am so happy to be here! I get great satisfaction knowing that what I do has an impact on the lives of children and families. I couldn’t imagine any other career for myself! My educational background is in Early Childhood Development, and I plan to go back to school and obtain a Master’s degree in ECE in the coming years. Outside of work I can be found riding horses, doing D-I-Y projects around the house, traveling, or hanging out with my husband and our one-year old Cocker Spaniel, Minnie.
