Director David Cherry

I began working for the Y recently and am excited to join the Vista del Mar childcare team. Previously, I worked for non-profits in Orange and Riverside County, working primarily with children and family in the social services system. I have a BFA in Theatre and an MFA in Film/Television. In addition, I am a domestic violence advocate and a certified trainer for both Common Sense Parenting & Wraparound Programs in California. In the past, I ran a group home, foster home, a wraparound home and most recently a parenting program in Orange County. I am truly excited to work for the Y because it is something a little different for me and get to help mold the future caretakers of our country. I love spending time with my kids and wife, and being outside every chance possible. I am an avid movie fan and love classic movies the most. I also enjoy music and tennis. Recently, I have taken up golf but isn’t sure golf is taking to me.
